A traditional Thanksgiving meal arrived early at Southview Courts again this year courtesy of the Union County 4-H Jr. Leaders.

A turkey dinner and all of the trimmings (mashed potato and gravy, dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans,  dinner rolls, drinks and a large assortment of homemade pies) were served to some 30 Southview residents.

After the meal, bingo was enjoyed with prizes donated by the Jr. Leaders going to the winners.

Serving the residents at Southview a meal at Thanksgiving time is in its eighth year for the Jr. Leaders Club.

“The kids enjoy it so much and look forward to doing it each year,” Jr. Leader advisor Brenda Paxton said. “The kids enjoy it and so do the residents.”

“We’re happy to have them here,” Southview Court Manager Trisha Persinger said. “It’s a fun change of pace for our residents.”
